Maggie is fortunate to have had a pioneer-style upbringing on the Iron Range of northern Minnesota where she and her four older siblings did things like help their Mom and Dad build a log cabin, pick wild rice and blueberries in the woods, cross-country ski through the forest behind the family house, and of course, engage in plenty of water activities: sauna-ing, swimming, canoeing and camping around the many lakes in the area.
She earned a bachelor of arts in theatre, and a bachelor of science in mass communications from Moorhead State University in Minnesota, and has since then worked steadily as a professional actress. Maggie has been employed in nearly every performing medium beginning with the theatre, moving on to daytime, primetime,
voice-over, industrials, print, independent film, webisodes, and, most notably, commercial work. Look for her currently in spots for Dawn Dish Soap and Fruit of the Loom.
She and her husband Hamish McCollester produced the award-winning indie comedy feature film Jason’s Big Problem, which Hamish wrote and directed, and Maggie starred in. The movie is now available on DVD and VOD.
Maggie aspires to play great roles similar to the likes of the always-authentic Mary Astor, classic comedienne Myrna Loy and the spirited Natalie Wood.
